This whole last week, I was doing a lot of reflection, after watching Paul Washer sermon on : “Do you truly know the Lord” (click here to watch it). He takes us to 2 Corinthians 5 to challenge us to check our hearts and see if we have a true relationship with the Lord.
He asked a series of questions such as:
- What you do is it for God?
- The lifestyle in which we walk is for God?
- Do you do it for God? Or is He like an accessories?
- Are you playing church? Or Is it for the rules?
- WHY AM I A CHRISTIAN?
I am Christian because of Him(God), for who he is and what has done.
The bible tells us “in your hearts honor Christ the Lord as holy, always being prepared to make a defense to anyone who asks you for a reason for the HOPE that is in you; yet do it with gentleness and respect” -1 Peter 3:15 ESV
Being is a Christian is a lifestyle that represents Christ. It’s not measured by how well we can speak, dress, who we know (popularity) or how well you know the bible. By the end of the day, it comes down to the condition of our heart for God. Is our heart truly His? And can the motives of our actions/choices confirms that?
It’s a privilege to be a Christian. We didn’t ask for it, it was given to us, freely. The Savior chooses whoever He wants to save. Let’s truly cherish that privilege and desire God in everything we do. Blessings!
