Faith | The Temptations In Your Life Are No Different From What Others.

Septemeber 23, 2015. I wrote this post on my Facebook’s Wall. Reading it again this morning, felt like a breath of fresh air. A good reminder, that was highly needed. Since it’s  #Mondaymotivation on Twitter. I hope this post motivate or strengthen someone’s faith.

Ever since we read this verse 1Corinthians 10:13 at church last Sunday, I found myself re-reading it throughout the week. Regardless of what I tried to read, I would find myself reading this verse over and over. The Holy Spirit was trying to teach me something that I was obviously avoiding so I decided to mediate on it. Some people might say that the verse is pretty much self-explanatory and the pastor did an awesome job explaining it to us.

This is my view: when experiencing hard times in life we think to ourselves “WHY IS THIS HAPPENING TO ME?” The burden, the stress or the pain that we’re feeling seems like we’re the only one experiencing it. As the bible tells us in 1 Corinthians 10:13, “The temptations in your life are no different from what others experience.” We all go through challenges, obstacles, sad moments. These experience are very common because it has happened to someone else before. Our situation isn’t as “special” as it appears. The degree of it is only based on how we choose to view it. The first victim of the decisions we choose to make is us ourselves.God “will not allow the temptation (situation) to be more than you can stand.” We are the ones who set limitations to our strengths and abilities. “God is faithful.” “When you are tempted, he will show you a way out so that you can endure” that if we are willing to maximize the strength and ability that he has stored within us, we can endure. The flesh is our reality, yes everything that happens to us we feel. When we’re sad it really hurts, when we are disappointed it really hurts. These feelings are real; we cannot deny them but we can choose how we want to handle it by simply taking a break from everything that’s overtaking us. If it’s friends, family, co-workers, work itself, close relationships, finances, school, etc- take a break, shut yourself away from everything even for one day. It’s okay to keep certain distances. Turn off your phone, social media, JUST RELAX your mind and body. During this break REST IN LORD, because after that break that situation won’t disappear but when we rest in LORD He will show us a better way to handle our situations.

The bible says in Matthew 11:28-30, “Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you. Let me teach you, because I am humble and gentle at heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy to bear, and the burden I give you is light.”

“The temptations in your life are no different from what others experience. And God is faithful. He will not allow the temptation to be more than you can stand. When you are tempted, he will show you a way out so that you can endure.” -1 Corinthians 10:13
